I am new in the blogging business, the first thing I do is to post to hosted blogs, almost all the blogs on which I chose to work were based on wordpress, its well known that WordPress is ideal for almost all kinds of blogging needs, people even use it as CMS, with the fact that its licensed under GPL make the WordPress the fastest growing blogging platform ever.
Lately I figured that I should build my own blogs and promote them, afterwards I can use the already built blogs to promote whatever I want, and I think its not a patentable idea, the existence of blog networks already says it all, the thing is that I don’t control those blogs, not to mention I can’t just post to them, its easy to understand that the price on those networks won’t be cheap.
If you have tried to maintain a few different blogs you will know its not easy, if you’re not going to just put spams on them, the real content writing is time and money consuming, you have to put in time and money to build a successful blog. I’ve seen quite a few real world examples, let’s examine this one, cargo bar, the domain name is pretty good, the content on the site is not bad, though its not a theme focused blog, almost any interesting posts get posted on it. One more example, Favorite Ratchet Tie Downs, this blog has a theme, the content on the this site has a theme, there are a few well ranked keywords for this blog. I can show you a lot more sites, but I believe you get the idea. Here is one last note, some of your blogs should not be very serious ones, let them get some content occasionally, just like this blog, ATV Winch, doing this right you will have a natural blogging networks.
After you successfully build a few blogs, probably you can add a few more blogs to your arsenal, use the old ones to promote the new ones, get your own little blog network going is not that too difficult. It sounds pretty simple, but it won’t be easy to build even a tiny blogging network, one of the most important things is that don’t get your site dropped off index by major search engines.
